Gospel in Deprived Communities
I wanted to share this quick, two minute video that I watched this morning. It speaks to some of the stereotypes we might think about when we consider where the gospel is most effective. Most people, including myself, have just assumed it 'works best' in the middle class. That seems to be the largest category of people that are evangelical Christians.
I love how Mark Dever, president of 9marks, explains how in reality, the gospel speaks to much, much more in the poor and deprived communities! I'm actively praying to get to work in and live amongst these kind of communities - full of people that God is planning to give new life to despite any hinderances culture tells them are there. God breaks ALL chains :)
"Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save.."
Isaiah 59:1 NIV

"If you look at the people in the Bible, who are the great people? Moses the murderer, David the murderer, Paul the murderer...If you have an idea that you've done something that has put you beyond the pail of the grace of God, then you've not yet considered how long God's arm is, how far He can reach." Mark Dever
