Week Three
These post titles are so clever, I know.... :)

Last night, I had an amazing opportunity to do home visits with my teammate Katie after Kids Club. I was nervous at first, just not knowing what to expect. God is so good - everything that happened and all that we were exposed to can only be described as led by the Spirit! It was just proof that He means it when He says He goes before us and prepares the way.
We went to two houses, and we got to watch and see the women at work in the kitchen. I watched one woman prepare Roti, which is just flour and hot water kneaded together and cooked on a flat, cast iron skillet type thing. She gets up at 2 a.m. every morning to make it for her families breakfast. I knew she would ask us to try it, so I was mentally praying trying to figure out how I was going to try it since I can't have the flour she used. Thankfully, I was able to give most of it to Katie, knowing she remembered my food allergies!
After that, we went to another house, where the mother was preparing fish, dahlo, and masala tea. I tried a bite of the fish! I could only do a tiny amount since it was fried, but it tasted like chicken :) the dahlo was by far my favorite!! It's like a potato, but more chewy/sticky. The tea was AMAZING! I know it had milk in it, which I haven't had in about 7 months. Again, I just prayed that it wouldn't effect me too bad.
Both of the families were prepping for fasting starting this Sunday or Monday. I got to listen and learn about all that, which was pretty cool!

I killed two spiders with my bare hands today........

We had an awesome bon fire last night with the youth from the church we work with. I got to try Kassava for the first time. It tasted similar to a potato, but a bit harder. You just throw it on the fire to cook, and then you cut the skin off and hold it in a banana leaf!
Today we got to go to a mud pool and hot spring. It felt amazing! We were literally covered head to toe in this clay, and washed it off in the hot spring. You feel so good afterwards :)

Last night, we had the opportunity to have dinner at some peoples home! We went back to the houses from last week, and we had roti, fish/chicken curry, and some pickled things. It was all really good. We went to another house afterwards for cake for a girls birthday. We ended up having a dance party, and it was probably the funnest night yet :) those girls sure can dance! They learned these fun moves from the Hindi and Bollywood movies. I'm definetly going to have to check those out!
I had been praying throughout the day, knowing I'd be eating some things I shouldn't/haven't in so long. I ended up with some stomach cramps, and I don't feel too good this morning. BUT I know its much better than it used to be, so that is encouraging!

Please be praying for Loloma Home. Its hard to see the kids in these situations and not feel over whelmed. I know God is sovereign and will use everything they've gone through in ways I can't even imagine. But it's still hard, especially for some of my teammates. Pray our friendships with these kids make a lasting impact in their lives, and our own. Pray we trust that our God is good and just and loving!
I'm also still struggling with where I should go/be when I get back. I keep praying for doors to close and the right ones to open. Every time I feel like I have the right decision, I'll pray for confirmation, and another door opens. I feel the Lords still calling me to Turkey, but now I'm thinking that's something he might have planned in the more distant future. I'm reading through this book, the tangible kingdom, and it brought up an opportunity I might have in Manchester, England again. Now, my hearts getting excited about that. I think I've realized with my food/health that I'll need to find a place that better accommodates those needs, at least until I'm healed. I know England would be better suited for that, and that's helped put me at ease a bit more. Plus, I just loved it there when we visited when I was younger. The towns and way of life just seems to fit. It seems "homey" with charm - if that makes any sense at all. I don't know where to start job hunting wise overseas though, so if you have any connections, let me know :)
