First week continued :)

Friday

Yesterday, we ended up having a scavenger hunt day in Nadi! We were dropped off at the bus stop, ad had to get to town.  It was so much fun getting to walk around town!! My team didn't do to well on checking off the things on the list, but we had some great conversations with people.  The Fijians are so incredibly nice. It never felt too scary, and we didn't worry about getting lost because they were so incredibly helpful.

In our conversations though, the disputes between the native Fijians and the Indians became apparent pretty quickly.  We spoke to both groups, and they were all super sweet.  It was just interesting to get to see first hand the division amongst the groups.  Prayers for reconciliation are still needed!!

Driving and walking around, we passed many Muslim schools and a Hindi Temple.  There is an Islamic school close by where we are staying too.  I have never really seen either back home, and I have to say - God wrecks my heart every time I pass by them, or hear their call to prayer.  I think God places a specific cause on each of our hearts, and I feel this stirring that reaching out to those places might be mine. Hearing their prayers and seeing this ornateness on the temple just makes me so sad for the people.  I practiced prayer walking while in Nadi, and I am continuing to pray that He reaches out to people stuck in that darkness!

Saturday

Today is our day for sleeping in a bit and going out for a fun activity! We are planning on going to a farmers market, heading to the theater, and then the beach for the afternoon :) I'm so excited to get out and learn even more about this amazing culture and the people who live here.  The relationship side of missions work is clearly my favorite.  Every time I hear a testimony of how God calls someone to Himself and remains so active in their life, I just get the biggest smile on my face.  I'm still learning the best way to have a conversation about the gospel, but I'm learning to focus on praying and relying on the Spirit for discernment.

Work on the farm is still going well! Lots of things accomplished this week, and its only the beginning.  I'm so thankful for the opportunity to serve the LTMs in this way, even if we can't see the direct correlation right away.  Its not glamorous, but its all glorifying to God. He truly is my only source of strength to push through the difficult things this week, and in the weeks to come :)
