If Not Us, Then Who??

My heart is so very anxious right now, and I am humbly asking for your help.

The family that I was able to work alongside in Fiji is in need of your support.  They have been facing a lot of difficulties lately, and right now, the Enemy is at work in regards to financing their mission.

I know that as soon as I mention finances and financial support, many of you will just tune out or close out this message.  So this post is for that person(s) that I am praying so fervently for right now.  I am praying that the Lord is softening your heart to being his hands and feet in this world.

This couple has been in Fiji for well over ten years - they have developed amazing relationships with the locals that money just can't put a price on.  The Lord has blessed their ministry, and has helped them to reach out and shine a light in some incredibly dark places.  They love their neighbors so well - they sacrifice their family time, luxuries that we take for granted here, medical care, etc so they can be obedient to the Lord's call to make disciples.

When I learned today that they haven't received some funds that are necessary for one of their BIGGEST community outreach programs, my heart was literally breaking.  God has kept it on my mind all day long, and I have been asking Him to be at work in someone's heart to give to His global mission.

They have had an amazing impact on my life.  They have caused my heart for missions to become a reality.  They encourage and support me in areas that my own family just doesn't get sometimes.  When they tell me they are proud of me, my heart swells with thanksgiving that God has given me them as an amazing example of his gospel.  They are the example that I hope to one day set for other young adults and people.  They have literally sacrificed everything for God's mission.

I know this plea may not resonate with most people - and others will make an excuse as to why they can't give.  Trust me when I say that I understand times are hard.  I understand people are pinching pennies all over, cutting back where they can.

I'm just asking that you take a moment to think about the people who haven't heard about and experienced the free gift of grace and mercy that you (if you are a believer) and I have been given.  I'm asking you to look back in your life, reflect on the way that God opened your eyes and heart to that love.  I'm pretty positive that He worked through other people to show you what community and a life with Him could look like.  God is using this team in Fiji to shine so brightly in the darkness.

Please consider donating to their cause, and God's mission in this world.  It doesn't have to be a lot - God works miracles with the smallest of things.  We are all God's hands and feet in this world.  We need each other to succeed - one part is not bigger or more important than the other.   One day, when we are all reunited in heaven, you will be able to see how your small donation made a HUGE impact on the kingdom advancement.

In a few short months, I will be asking for these donations towards God's mandate as well.  However, I will gladly delay my trip if it means that this family can continue their long-term work.

Pretty sure this song sums it up well!

I’m so tired of talking
About how we are God’s hands and feet
But it’s easier to say than to be
Live like angels of apathy who tell ourselves
It’s alright, “somebody else will do something”
Well, I don’t know about you
But I’m sick and tired of life with no desire
I don’t want a flame, I want a fire
I wanna be the one who stands up and says,
“I’m gonna do something”

If not us, then who
If not me and you
Right now, it’s time for us to do something
If not now, then when
Will we see an end
To all this pain
It’s not enough to do nothing
It’s time for us to do something
